I arrived in Denver last night for a conference, and stumbled across my first octopus in under ten minutes while going to my hotel. Here is the sign out front for Blue Sushi Sake Grill, in all its tentacled glory:

I gather this is a hand-made creation from a French chocolatier. I'm just gonna say, if someone were to give me a chocolate octopus as a gift, I would love them forever.

I'm not saying I am definitely buying this octopus wine bottle holder for my wife for Christmas (available on Amazon.com for $20.39). But then again, I'm not NOT saying it.

I am morally opposed to eating octopus. I am also gastronomically opposed to eating octopus because I am a finicky weeney of an eater, but that's neither here nor there. This, however, is an octopus I would cheerfully eat.

Today is my birthday. This is not the cake I got for my birthday. Maybe next year.
